The first projects, completed by Keystone, were for PENNDOT District 1-0
in Erie County on the now completed Erie East Side Access Highway. The East
Side Access Project is an extremely high profile project, which created
controversy and involved constant public involvement. The route traverses
through the East Side of the City of Erie and connects Interstate 90 to
the Bayfront Highway. These projects involved the relocation of numerous
residential owners and tenants as well as at least fifteen businesses ranging
in size from one-room operations to several that appraised for over $500,000.
Of these relocation claims, each was completed successfully and no litigation
was required. Our services to the Department also included obtaining boarding
and sealing contracts and maintenance contracts, as well as coordinating
asbestos inspections and removals.
